1. PROGRESS REPORT

• As of yesterday our support (gifts and commitments) was at 91% of the bare-bones minimum needed to launch. Thank you!

• Brad currently spends a lot of time working on lesson plans for the fall. He'll be teaching spiritual formation to incoming students and basic preaching to third and fourth year students. He's also helping to teach a class on cults and will be working on developing PIBC's distance education.

• Cheryl will continue working in the office at Wilkey Sheet Metal until August 18th. We don't know yet where she'll plug-in once she gets to Guam. There is no shortage of opportunity.

• Our formal farewell at Cornerstone Covenant Church will be this Sunday morning, August 6th.

• The house is up for sale -- no serious interest, yet. But there have been more lookers in the past two weeks than in the first 45 days on the market.

• We haven't found homes for the pets, yet. Rusty is about 7-years-old -- part beagle and part terrier. Loyal watchdog. Likes to bark at the UPS truck. Good with kids -- although I wouldn't recommend him for real little children (those who might pull his tail too hard -- I don't think he'd bite -- but he might nip). He likes to go on walks and to be around people. Tex, our 15-year-old calico cat ignores the dog and sleeps most of the time. But when she feels like she wants attention she'll make an affectionate appearance. You'd never know she is so old by looking at her.

• The cargo container arrives at the house for packing on Monday, August 7th.

• Brad flies to Guam on Saturday, August 12th (Modesto -> LA -> Honolulu -> Guam). After 18 hours of travel he arrives in Guam at 5:30 p.m., Sunday, August 13th.

• Cheryl stays in Turlock until she gets Betsy situated at her alma mater -- UC Berkeley. She then flies to Guam on Tuesday, August 22th (Modesto -> LA -> Honolulu -> Guam). After 18 hours of travel she arrives in Guam at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, August 23rd (her birthday!).

• Cargo container arrives in Guam sometime thereafter.

• We don't yet know where we'll be living once we get there. We have a real estate agent but we can't really do anything until we get on island and our Turlock house sells. Please pray for all the housing transactions that need to take place.

• We're selling our 2003 Caravan. Dale and Amy Phillips are helping us with that sale. Then we'll buy something to drive once we get on island. We'll store our Ford Escort somewhere so Kent can use it when he gets back from Chile and Washington, DC in the spring. We're giving away our 1997 Dodge Caravan -- 190,000 miles. Anyone have need of such a vehicle?

• New student orientation at Pacific Islands Bible College starts Saturday, August 26th.

4) ABOUT THIS EMAIL
Hafa Adai is Chamorro for hello. You are receiving this email because you are a friend or associate of Brad and Cheryl Boydston. A few of you are probably receiving duplicates because at this point we are also sending these updates to the Covnet and Abet lists. If you are on one of those lists and would like to be added to our more permanent update list, or if you would prefer to receive Hafa Adai at a different address, email Brad at Brad@Boydston.us.
