Quick Notes

I (Brad) spent Monday - Thursday in staff meetings but have been able to squeeze in some time to check out housing. Nothing I've looked at to this point is very promising.

The good news is that I'm staying with Dave and Joyce Owen, so I'm not out on the street. And it appears that Cheryl and I will be house sitting next month. IOW we have a little breathing room.

Cheryl will be joining me next Wednesday, August 23rd. The first wave of students will start to arrive on the same day. There is thus a lot of campus activity getting things ready.

Our house in Turlock hasn't sold. No offers, yet. But there have been return lookers.

We still need a place for Rusty our dog. If we don't have some place by Saturday Cheryl will have to take him to the shelter for placement. The hard part about that is that we don't know where he is going to end up so our kids won't be able to visit him when they visit Turlock.

Our cat, Tex, is trying out life with David and Kathy Ward.

Our support is at about 93% of minimum.

Charlie and Jan Troxell, Liebenzell/PCA missionaries who are retiring in a few months, gave me one of their cell phones. It's a pre-paid system that charges about .30 minute. But it's still the best deal for us right now. (There is plenty of wireless competition on Guam but cell phone plans aren't at all close to being as "generous" as those on the mainland.) So our phone # is
671-456-8414.

Melissa Heck, a new Liebenzell missionary who will serve as dean of women, arrived this evening after 48 hours of travel.

Please keep us all in your prayers -- especially during this transition time.
