Dual Standing

We learned this morning that Cheryl and I are now recognized as Liebenzell USA missionaries. We're still project missionaries with the Evangelical Covenant Church and nothing changes in how we operate or how our funding is handled. However, the administration at PIBC wanted us to apply for standing as Liebenzell missionaries. So, with the permission of the ECC Department of World Mission we drafted a memo of understanding that gives us dual standing with the ECC and Liebenzell. And everyone involved has agreed to it.

Liebenzell is the primary stakeholder in PIBC and almost all of the students come from churches started by Liebenzell. The school administration felt that since no one out here knows of the Evangelical Covenant Church that having Liebenzell standing will give us more credibility with the evangelical churches in Chuuk, Yap, and Palau.

Being whatever it takes people, the ECC leadership embraced the idea.
