Pacific origins
Contrary to previous understanding a new DNA study of people from 41 Pacific populations, strongly suggests that that Polynesians and Micronesians in the central and eastern islands are genetically unrelated to Melanesians. Instead Polynesians and Micronesians were more closely related to Taiwan Aborigines and East Asians. Fascinating!
