If all goes according to plan Hawai'i Theological Seminary will become the graduate seminary of PIBC and their undergraduate students will become a part of our program. They currently have about 35 students.
We also met a couple of times this week with representatives from the Chuuk State department of education. We're working on expanding our offerings in Chuuk so that more of their teachers can get their AA degrees. At this point it looks like we'll offer our AA in Bible and the teachers can add on the three required education classes that will qualify them to keep their teaching jobs. We are cautiously optimistic that this can work.
It appears, too, that we are going to have to scale back the traditional programming on the Tol campus because of infrastructure and teacher issues. We're not sure yet how scaled back things will be.
Yesterday the Yapesse students and a few friends lead chapel (see pictures). Stella Fatag, one of our graduates, and now a PIBC employee working in the library, spoke. She always has good things to say.
Linda Hamill, on Guam for a few weeks to do her Air Force reserve gig, came over for dinner last night. It's always fun to see her. She and her Australian husband, Mal, live in Brisbane. Linda is also a seminary student and was the summer intern at LCG.
It's game night at PIBC tonight. Who knows what the students will have in store for us!
