A few updates

SINGAPORE TRIP
My four days in Singapore last week went well. TransWorld Radio had a conference to update their ministry partners on Asian operations. We are exploring whether we might collaborate with them on some aspects of our distance education program. I got some good ideas but at this point there isn't anything specific that we're planning together

I've put together a small slideshow of my Singapore pictures.

PETER'S LEAVING SUNDAY
Peter Vaas, our Dutch maintenance guy at PIBC is leaving Guam so he can attend seminary. He decided a few days ago that the school he applied to early in the spring was lacking in communication skills. So he made a quick decision to apply to Tyndale Seminary in the Netherlands. He faxed in his application on Tuesday and today he received word that he has been accepted. Tyndale will be an all around better fit.

WORLD RELIGIONS CLASS
I'm enjoying the world religions class that I teach on Tuesday evenings. The students seem to be engaged with the subject matter. I am struggling a bit to keep up with the preparation and grading -- still trying to catch up from being gone last week.

BETSY IS COMING
In a few weeks our daughter Betsy will be coming to spend a few weeks with us.

KENT TO KOREA
While she is here Kent, our second son, will be in Korea for a two week study project.

SPOT
The roof painting crew has been a bit sloppy and some of the paint is going off the side of the roof. Melissa's dog PeeVee, always wanting to be in sight of the people, parks himself in the wrong spot below -- and has become the spotted dog.

LIEBENZELL CONFERENCE
Most of the staff is gone for the summer -- several attended the Liebenzell Mission conference at Schooley's Mountain, New Jersey. Some are blogging about their travels:
Ned & Marisol Farnsworth
Melissa Heck
Happiness Lodge
Dave & Joyce Owen

NEW PEOPLE COMING
In a few weeks:
Eric & Karyn Sorenson and children
Tim & Melody Plaxton
Cristel Churchill

NEW BOSS
Cheryl helps support us with her 15-hour per week job as the secretary at the Methodist church. These days she is busy getting things ready for their new pastor Fred Agtarap, who arrives in July.

Lots of coming and going this summer.
